ਨਾ ਕਰ - Negative commands

- Imperative ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ -

The words ਨਹੀਂ nahī(n) (no/not) and ਨਾ nā (no/not) are both used as a negation, but only ਨਾ nā is used for negative commands.

ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਨਾ ਲਾ
ih nū(n) hatth nā lā
Don’t touch this

ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਈਂ
rāt nū(n) bāhar nā jāī(n)
(Polite) Don’t go outside tonight

ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾ ਆਈਂ
anddar nā āī(n)
(Polite) Don’t come inside
